Since we’re on the topic of high school, I wanted to share a few photos from a recent session with a graduating high school senior. This session was especially neat because when I remember the day she was brought home from the hospital. Yep, my parents lived next door to Kristen’s family and I was actually in high school. (Did I just age myself?) I honestly didn’t pay that much attention to the baby next door because I was… well, a teenager. But she and her brother looked cute and I’d see them play and state how precious they looked before going on my merry way. Well, last year I photographed her cousin’s engagement session in Panama City Beach and they brought Miss Kristen up. I said “Awww… I remember when she was a newborn. She must be in what, 6th grade?” Wrong. Dead wrong. Kristen was not only all grown up, she’d become a beautiful young woman.
When I was asked to photograph her senior pictures I tried to contain my enthusiasm. We met in St. Andrews and tromped around the area, stopping under the oaks and along colorful buildings. We even met a man that decided her senior pictures wouldn’t be complete without his parrot (who had a thing for sparkly earrings). Looking back, I’d have to agree!
