When I was in college we had an exchange program with some European universities. They would send students to Florida to study and have some fun in the sun. I very quickly realized that the exchange program only went one way though. “Why are none of our students going over there? I think I need to change this…” And so after a long application process, I packed my bags with just enough money to barely scrape by and headed across the Atlantic. My time in France was one of the most life-changing experiences to date. I would work late into the night and arrange my schedule so I could take long weekends, hopping on trains with a baguette and snacking my way through most of Western Europe. It opened my eyes to different cultures and left me with a wanderlust that I have yet to shake. In all of my travels though, I have yet to see a place that compares to the beauty of the beaches of South Walton. Our emerald green waters and sugar-white sand still get me every single time… It really is one of those things that you have to see to believe.
A few weeks ago I had the chance to meet up with the Garrett family while they were here enjoying our natural beauty. We tromped around Alys Beach and captured some really colorful and spirited photos of their family. The clouds were out that day, but the Gulf was still a beautiful pale turquoise color, which made for a wonderful backdrop for their family photos. Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!
